 I adopted Layla when she was about 8 months old. Her previous owner, a college-bound young woman, couldn't take Layla with her and was planning to put her in a kennel. So, I adopted her. From the moment she came into my life, she was my bestie! Layla was gentle, sweet, and full of quiet affection. 

 Then after she passed away, it left a huge hole in my heart.  My friends tell me to get another dog, but I can't go through that pain again.  Hence, the reason I started loving other people's pets.
